Middle aged woman looking extremely happy with the results of her brow lift surgeryYou deserve to feel satisfied with what you see every time you look in the mirror. If you are like millions of other men and women, however, you are distressed by the signs of aging that are beginning to appear on your face. Those worry lines that are forming on your brow can be worrying, indeed.

Fortunately, plastic surgery offers a potentially ideal solution in the form of brow lift surgery. At Mesna Plastic Surgery, the practice of acclaimed plastic surgeon Gregory T. Mesna in Minnesota, brow lift candidates are carefully screened during one-on-one consultations to ensure that they are well-suited to the procedure and will achieve the results they desire. If so, Dr. Mesna is able to customize brow lift to meet their unique needs and goals so that they emerge from surgery looking rejuvenated, refreshed, and completely natural.

Are you a good candidate for brow lift surgery? We invite you to meet with Dr. Mesna at his state-of-the-art surgical facility to find out for yourself.

What is brow lift surgery?

Brow lift surgery is a procedure used to reduce the appearance of furrows, wrinkles, and other lines in the forehead and brow region, as well as to alleviate drooping by elevating the entire area. The surgery can help to make people whose brows give them a stern, tired, angry, or perpetually worried appearance look friendlier, happier, and more alert and energetic.

Dr. Mesna performs both traditional and endoscopic brow lift procedures. The traditional brow lift involves larger incisions, but also allows for more dramatic manipulation of the underlying tissues. The endoscopic brow lift is minimally invasive and therefore requires smaller incisions and a shorter recover time; it is often recommended to patients with mild to moderate wrinkles in the forehead region.

Both types of brow lift surgery involve the reshaping, tightening, and lifting of the muscles in the brow region, the removal of excess fat and other tissues, and the excision of excess skin before the remaining skin is pulled taut and sutured closed. Patients emerge from surgery with smoother, more youthful brows, results that can last for five to ten years in patients who are committed to maintaining their results by leading healthy lifestyles.

Candidacy for Brow Lift Surgery

The chances are good that if you have wrinkles and drooping skin in the forehead region, you are a good candidate for brow lift surgery. In general, a good candidate for brow lift surgery will:

  • Be in generally good health, as brow lift is a serious surgical procedure. Patients with conditions that could interfere with proper healing may not be good candidates for brow lift.
  • Have realistic expectations for the outcomes of their surgery. While brow lift can take five to ten years off of a person’s appearance, it will not make a 40-year-old patient suddenly look like he or she is 20 again.
  • Be willing to follow all post-surgical instructions provided by Dr. Mesna with absolute diligence.
  • Be willing to lead a healthy post-surgical lifestyle in order to maintain his or her results.
