Achieve a More Youthful, Rejuvenated Appearance with a Full Face Lift

If you are concerned with sagging, drooping skin, and an overall lack of contour, you may be a good candidate for a face lift. This cosmetic procedure can rejuvenate your appearance by tightening and removing excess skin and tissue. Of the various types of face lifts, a full face lift, also known as rhytidectomy, offers the most dramatic results. Face lift surgery can help you achieve a years-younger appearance across your entire face, restoring smoother, more taut skin and a more defined profile. To learn more about full face lift surgery, contact our Minneapolis surgical center today and schedule a consultation with Dr. Gregory T. Mesna.

Face lift surgery restores a youthful look to the face by lifting sagging skin and underlying muscle. At Mesna Plastic Surgery, Dr. Gregory T. Mesna works closely with patients to achieve beautiful results. Face lift surgery is often done in conjunction with other facial procedures such as blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty.

The Face Lift Procedure

During a consultation, Dr. Mesna will work closely with you to determine the best procedure to address your areas of concern, and help you achieve your aesthetic goals. If you decide a full face lift is right for you, you will enter surgery with a thorough understanding of the procedure and how it will be performed.

Dr. Mesna is deeply committed to our patients' safety and comfort, and offers a number of sedation methods to help you relax throughout your treatment. Once you are properly anesthetized, Dr. Mesna will make incisions along your hairline on either side of your forehead, tucked discreetly within your hairline. These incisions will extend behind your temples, around your ears, and end at the back of your scalp. They will be comfortably hidden within your hair, so they are virtually unnoticeable after healing is complete.

Through these incisions, Dr. Mesna will gently tighten excess skin and underlying muscle tissue, and reposition it across your jaw line, cheeks, temples, and forehead. During surgery, he will periodically evaluate your results to ensure your aesthetic goals are being met, while maintaining a completely natural appearance. Once your skin and underlying tissue has been pulled taut, any excess will be removed, and your incisions will be closed. Specialized bandages will be applied to help aid contouring, and enhance healing.

Determining Your Candidacy

A full face lift can address sagging, creased skin on several areas of your face. You may want to consider this comprehensive procedure if you struggle with:

  • Sagging jowls
  • Deep laugh lines and wrinkles
  • Excess skin beneath your chin
  • Drooping cheeks
  • A generally tired appearance

These common cosmetic concerns can make you feel older than you are, and impact your confidence in your appearance. Unfortunately, no amount of diet and exercise can fend off the effects of genetics, aging, and gravity. Both men and women can benefit from full face lift surgery. Many of our patients choose to combine their surgery with other procedures, such as liposuction, a breast lift, or other treatments, for a full-body rejuvenation.

Further, it is important that you should understand the face lift procedure completely, as well as have realistic expectations for your surgical outcome. You should be committed to diligently following all instructions, both pre- and postoperative, in order to ensure a successful recovery. In addition to the above conditions, ideal candidates will have certain facial characteristics that can help attain the desired results:

Skin Elasticity

In order to achieve good face lift results, your skin should still maintain some of its natural elasticity and firmness. Once Dr. Mesna performs face lift surgery, your skin will need to adapt to its new contours, and without sufficient collagen production and skin elasticity, you may have a problematic recovery. Dr. Mesna can determine whether or not your skin is healthy enough for face lift surgery.

Facial Anatomy

The underlying bone structure of your face should be dense, strong, and well-defined. This is because when your facial skin is pulled back and tightened, it will rely on your facial structure for support.

Overall Health

During your initial consultation with Dr. Mesna, it is very important that you disclose all current and preexisting medical conditions and medications. Face lift surgery is invasive and involves a relatively extensive recovery period. It is important that you refrain from smoking at least two weeks prior to your surgery, as well as during your healing time. Smoking can increase the risk of complications and prolong your face lift recovery. Dr. Mesna will evaluate your current health and all medical information before determining if face lift surgery is right for you.

Determining Full Face Lift Cost

As with any surgery, there are several determining factors that can sway the cost of your face lift surgery one way or another. For many patients, though, the cost is simply an investment in their improved quality of life, increased confidence, and an appearance they can be proud to share with everyone.

Type of Face Lift

In almost all cases, a full face lift will cost more than a less extensive face lift, such as a mid face lift or mini face lift. This is because the surgery time for a full face lift is longer, the incisions are larger in number and size, and there is usually more anesthesia used.

Anesthesia

In most instances, a full face lift will require general anesthesia. This means that an anesthesiologist will apply their own fees in addition to any surgical or medical fees. The cost of anesthesia will further depend on the length of your treatment.

Finance Your Face Lift

We understand that not all patients are able to pay for their face lift in full at once. We proudly offer two lending programs to help you achieve your desired appearance. We offer financing through:

Prosper Healthcare Lending

Prosper is a third-party lending company that allows patients to receive any cosmetic or plastic surgery procedure with low interest rates and affordable payments.

Med Loan Finance

Med Loan is a third-party medical finance company offering low interested rates and monthly payments you can comfortably place within your budget for cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures.
