Forehead Lift Surgery Techniques By on March 01, 2013

Edina Endoscopic Brow LiftThe forehead area is one of the first on the face to display signs of aging. In fact, in all too many cases, lines, creases, and deep furrows in the brow make people look years older than they actually are. They can also make people look perpetually tired or even angry.

If you are dissatisfied with your appearance due to extensive wrinkling in the skin of the forehead, you may be an ideal candidate for browlift surgery. At the Edina plastic surgery practice of Dr. Gregory Mesna, we can restore a youthful look to your face through a minimally invasive endoscopic browlift procedure. What once required significant incisions and downtime can now be performed through tiny, discreet incisions to produce natural-looking, aesthetically pleasing results that can last for years. You will emerge from your browlift surgery looking younger, healthier, and more vital - all without any of the tell-tale signs of surgery.

At our office in Edina, endoscopic brow lift has helped many patients look as fresh and rejuvenated as they desire. If you’re interested in learning about how we can do the same for you, please read on and then contact Edina plastic surgeon Gregory Mesna today.

Not All Forehead Lifts Are Created Equal

The browlift is one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic surgery, yet it is also one of the most difficult to perform well. It takes experience, skill, an eye for aesthetics, and an intimate knowledge of how the tissues underlying the forehead skin relate to one another, all of which Dr. Mesna has. Throughout his career, he has produced consistently excellent results for his browlift patients, avoiding the pulled-back, unnatural look that is associated with browlift surgery gone wrong.

Dr. Mesna uses only the latest, most advanced technology and techniques in performing browlift surgery. Endoscopic browlift entails the use of a tiny device with a camera attached to one end. This instrument, called an endoscope, projects real-time images onto a screen so that Dr. Mesna can monitor his work without having to access the underlying tissues through larger incisions. He is able to tighten muscles, remove excess fat, and reshape tissues through extremely small incisions made strategically behind the hairline using this endoscope.

At his office in Edina, browlift is also performed using the latest laser technology. The laser is used to release the muscles and the periosteum (the clear lining that attaches the brow to the bone) prior to the repositioning of the brow. Using this safe, extraordinarily precise laser technology allows Dr. Mesna to produce dramatic results while lowering the risk of bleeding, swelling, and bruising. The time it takes to recover from endoscopic browlift surgery is substantially shorter than it is when the endoscopic method is not used. Scarring and discomfort are also minimalized, as is the likelihood of serious risks.
